Total Lunar Eclipse on 10th December 2011

Lunar Eclipse
The last eclipse of the year 2011 will occur on the 10th December 2011 and it will be a Total Lunar Eclipse. As is well-known, Lunar eclipse takes place when the Moon passes through the shadow of the earth in the heaven, comes near Rahu or Ketu and when it occurs, all three planets(Sun, Earth and Moon) are nearly in straight line. Here it is a total Lunar eclipse because the whole of Moon’s disc will be obscured. In order to study the impact of this eclipse, a chart has been prepared taking the time of the maximum of the eclipse i.e 20 hrs and 20 min.
The eclipse occurs in the sign Taurus. As Ketu is involved in the eclipse, it is a South Nodal eclipse. South Nodal eclipse are not considered strong in their effects. Lunar eclipses affect mostly the matters concerned with Moon, viz common people particularly women, harmony in the family life as also in the country, matters concerning water, those living in water like fish, shipping, liquids, commodities like groceries, vegetables etc.
When the Moon is full in Taurus, the Sun is in the opposite sign of Scorpio. This year (2011), the Full Moon is at 18 degrees Taurus-Scorpio. Luna loves to be in the sign Taurus, for earthy goodness, rooting in, contentment, and most important in these manic times, relaxing!
Taurus is a fixed sign, making it about consolidating, entrenching, committing to one thing and firming up. Taurus is an earth sign, with an emphasis on natural rhythms, building, sensuality and creating wealth.
