Remedies and Mantra-Stotram to please Rahu-Raghu, the North Node of the Moon

Rahu- raghu- north node of the moon-chaya graha

Rahu-Raghu- chaya graha- shadowy planet

As we have discussed in so many earlier posts, Rahu is seen as an Asura or demon who does his best to plunge any area of life he controls into chaos, mystery, and cruelty. He is associated with the world of material manifestation and worldly desire, as well as random, uncontrolled growth without wisdom or understanding. Rahu is supposed to be a mighty and naughty child of māyā (illusory power of nature), and thus has a lot of dualities attached to its Mayavi (illusory) nature.

The various names assigned to Rahu in Vedic texts—the chief, the advisor of the demons, the minister of the demons, ever-angry, the tormentor, bitter enemy of the luminaries, lord of illusions, one who frightens the Sun, the one who makes the Moon lusterless, the peacemaker, the immortal (having drunk the divine nectar), bestower of prosperity and wealth and ultimate knowledge—give a clue to its basic energy and attributes.

Rahu can be considered the expert among the planets when it comes to scheming and plotting. It is the master of manipulation.

Rahu Mahadasha- 18 years: (click here to read more)

Rahu Mahadasha is eighteen years long in Vimshottari dasa system in Vedic Astrology. Rahu rules three nakshatras Aridra, Swati and Satabhisha and when Moon is any of these nakshatra at birth, Rahu is the starting mahadasha. Rahu Mahadasha can be very harmful to many depending on its location and the aspects that natal rahu receives.

Here, we describe events which most people with rahu mahadasa experience, whether rahu is well-placed or badly placed in their horoscope.

Rahu Dasha always brings loss of domestic harmony, splits and separations in the family. It may be between the native and his father; the native and his wife (or husband), or the native and his brothers. The peaceful atmosphere of the family will be suddenly disturbed. Non-cooperation, quarrels and independent postures among the members will be the starting point. A person passing through Rahu period becomes bold in his thoughts and actions; stoops to unconventional degrading actions and commits sins secretly and thereby incurring the displeasure and annoyance of other members in the family. Members become antagonistic mutually and come to loggerheads usually, bringing disgrace to the family. The reputation of the family will decline. Read more here…

The area in which this success is attained usually relates to the significations of the house Rahu is placed in. All the electric lights that illuminate our world in the nighttime can be said to be associated with Rahu. Rahu is known as the “artificial sun,” which is fitting considering the introduction of electric lights, adding to the illusion and glamor of modern times.

    • Astrologer says:

The Shesampadi/Shesambadi temple is in fact a Vaishnav(Iyengar) temple of Adi Sesha(the resting abode of Lord Vishnu) and it is well known that Adi Sesha or Ananta Sesha is the 1000 headed Snake god. He is the Supreme amongst all snakes, he is the eldest brother of Vasuki, who was used to wrap around the mountain during the churning of the ocean – Samudra Manthan. Hence the entire Snake clan- Adi Sesha, Vasuki are devotees to Lord Vishnu-who also incidentally decapitated Rahu-Ketu while they stole a sip of the Nectar/Ambrosia from Mohini. It is also written in our scriptures that Adi Sesha from time to time has accompanied Lord Vishnu in his Dashavtaar or the 10 reincarnations. During the Ram Avataar, Adi Sesha was reborn as Lakshman the younger brother of Lord Rama and during the Krishna Avataar, he was reborn as Balarama, the elder brother of Lord Krishna. So you see, the image of Adi Sesha is basically a protector, a shield, a kavach against evil.
Hence the worship of the ever powerful Adi- Sesha is also a potent panacea for people undergoing the Rahu and Ketu bad times. The worship of Lord Vishnu, the Master of Adi- Sesha is also an effective panacea. Chanting of “Om Namoh Narayanaya” atleast 108 times in a day gives relief against the malefic and stagnating effects of the Shadowy planets.
      Hope this satisfies your query.
