  1. Prasanna says:

    Jai Shri Ganesh Ji Ki!!

Thanks a lot for putting these names up. May Lord Ganesha bless you with his infinite bliss.

I noticed that in one of the names of Lord Ganesha, you have mentioned at #82 Skandapurvaja – Elder Brother of Skand (Lord Kartik)
While as far as my knowledge is concerned, Lord Kartikeya is the elder brother of Lord Ganesh.

Can you please let me know if I am wrong or right? Once again many thanks for this!

    • Astrologer says:

      Dear Prasanna,
Thank you for the kind words.
It is said that Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya once had a dispute as to who the eldest of the them was. They approached their father – Lord Shiva to solve this doubt for them. Unable to satisfy their query, Lord Shiva hit upon an idea and he gave them a task. He said whoever circumbulated around this world- Bramhand and came back the first, will be hence forth called the eldest amongst the two. hearing this Skanda(Lord Kartikeya), dashed off on his peacock vahan(carrier) immediately, but Lord Ganesha used his wit and presence of mind and instead circumbulated his parents Lord Shiva and Parvati who were sitting gin front of him. He surmised, that his parents were his entire Universe, His World, His Bramhand. Pleased on hearing this explanation, Lord Shiva bestowed upon him the status of the elder brother.
Hope this satisfies your query. Keep writing in.
